The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Women Who Started It
Robinson, Jo Ann Gibson. The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Women Who Started It. Knoxville: University of Tennessee Press, 1987.
Why this matters here
Jo Ann Gibson Robinson's account foregrounds the Women's Political Council and its organizational work before and during the Montgomery bus boycott. The chapter cites her first-person movement history for the preparation and leaflet campaign, separately from Taylor Branch's broader chronology.
